THE COMPANY

What is it?  Core Fitness is a company that designs custom workout programs that use the core as the foundation for different exercises. Core Fitness doesn’t stop with just your body. The mind is also a big part in reaching your goals. You will also be challenged mentally to endure resistance to your perceived limitations. This will allow you to reach larger goals in life, not just in exercise.

 

THE “CORE” IN CORE FITNESS

What is the “core”? Core muscles lie deep within the torso. They generally attach to and support the spine, pelvis and the scapula.
Why is the core so important?  When muscles of the core contract, the spine, pelvis and shoulders are stabilized. This creates a solid base of support. We are then able to perform movements of the extremities. The stronger the core muscles are, the more powerful the movements of the body become. Training the muscles of the core also corrects postural imbalances that can lead to injuries

Experience

  • 5 years experience in teaching Physical Education

  • B.S. Degree in Exercise Science
  • National Strength and Conditioning Association Certified Personal Trainer
The Reason for Core Fitness
  • I have seen numerous injuries to people simply because they have a weak core. Many times the treatment of their injury is to strengthen the core. I wanted to approach fitness by strengthening the core in a preventative way.
  • I have seen the way most gyms train their clients. I wanted to offer fitness in a functional capacity for everyday living as well as transferring functional exercises into performance for greater athletic achievement.
  • Many people workout their bodies, but don’t have the mental strength to challenge their bodies to achieve their goals. I want to train the mind to change what it thinks it can’t do.
